  Time to Break Ground!
After months of meeting with the architect to finalize the design for this custom home and waiting for Montgomery County to issue a building permit, it is finally time to break ground and get the construction started. The Rosenthal Homes Team works to clear the site, dig the hole that will be the basement, pour concrete for the footings and finally begin forming the basement walls. Literally the foundation has been laid for this home, soon the basement and above grade walls will start to be created and this site will start to look like a home.

The photos below show that it has been a busy few weeks and the empty lot has been transformed into an active construction site.

Construction begins as team member Fred Smith breaks ground and begins digging for the family’s new basement

As the digging continues the hole gets deeper and the dirt pile grows.

Once the footing forms are set, they are filled with concrete sent in via pump truck to create the beginning of the homes foundation

Now that the footings have cured, it is time to form the basement walls so more concrete can be poured.
